Dr. Nabil Basta, MD, FCAP, FASCP

Dr. Nabil Basta is currently the chief of pathology and laboratory medicine at University health care system in Augusta, GA. Dr. Basta has been with University health care system since 2004. He is also the current College of American pathologists Georgia state commissioner for laboratory Accredition. He conducted and continue to conduct numerous inspections at USA and also international laboratories.

Currently Dr. Basta practice anatomic and clinical pathology at University health care system. He has a special interest in breast, and GI pathology. He has also a special interest in ultrasound-guided endoscopic fine-needle aspiration of hepatobiliary system, and the pancreas.

Dr. Basta is a Diplomate of American Board of pathology. He is board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology. He completed his residency , surgical pathology and cytopathology Fellowship's at University of Kentucky, at Lexington Kentucky.

Dr. Basta also attended surgery Internship for one year at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah Georgia. His Medical degree is from University of Assiut medical School in Egypt. Dr. Basta practiced family medicine in Egypt before he immigrated to United States in 1990
